Running an Advanced Scan

Advanced scans provide additional options for viewing the fixing errors on the Safe List and on the Expert List. You can view detailed information for each error, you can select the errors to be fixed, and you can directly access Registry Editor.

To run an Advanced scan:

1       On the Optimize tab, click Registry Fixer.

2       Click the Advanced button.

3       In the list of areas, select the sections you want scanned.

4       Click Scan Now.

Registry Fixer displays the results with the Safe List first and then the Expert list below. To view the Expert List, use the scroll bar on the right side of the list.

5       To view details, click the plus sign (+) next to the error.

6       To view keys that are locked, or to lock or unlock a key, click Protect Keys. (For information about locking keys, see Protecting Registry Keys).

NOTE:   Locked keys cannot be modified or deleted.

7       To fix errors in the Safe List, choose Select all or select the check box next to each error you want fixed.

8       To fix errors in the Expert List, choose Select all, or select the check box next to each error you want fixed.

WARNING:  carefully review each error in the expert list before choosing it.

9       Choose Fix Now.

10   Click Done to return to the Optimize tab.
