Backing Up Data Using Recovery Commander

When you use Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk, you can back up files and folders.

To back up files and folders using Recovery Commander:

1       Start Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk. For more information, see Starting Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk.

2       Select View, edit, or copy files/folders, and then click Next.

3       Select Back up the contents of a folder, and then click Next.

4       In the Source area, select the files to back up:

§       To back up all files in all of the user profiles, select All files in user profiles.

§       To back up all files in the Windows installation directory, select All files in the Windows directory.

§       To back up all files on the drive on which Windows is installed, select All files on system drive.

§       To back up a specific folder, select Custom directory. In the Custom directory box, type a path, or click Browse to locate the folder to back up.

5       To specify where to save the backup, in the Destination box, type a path, or click Browse to locate a drive or folder.

6       If you have previously backed up folders to this location, to overwrite files only if the files from the source are newer than those in the destination, select the Overwrite only if source is newer check box.

7       Click Next.

8       Recovery Commander backs up the files. To stop the backup, click Abort.

9       When Recovery Commander finishes backing up the folder, click Done.
