Exploring Files and Folders

Recovery Commander includes the File Explorer, which you can use to navigate the folders on your computer. If you cannot start Windows, you may be able to start Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk. Use the File Explorer to recover important files.

To explore files and folders using Recovery Commander:

1       Start Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk. For more information, see Starting Recovery Commander from the Rescue Disk.

2       Select View, edit, or copy files/folders, and then click Next.

3       Select File Explorer — View, edit, delete files/folders, and then click Next.

The Recovery Commander File Explorer looks like Windows Explorer. The Folders pane lists the available partitions and drives. The File pane lists the folders and files in the selected drive or partition.
