Touring Rescue Disk

When Rescue Disk starts, the Rescue Disk wizard opens. Rescue Disk offers these options:

§       Recovery Commander

Use Recovery Commander to restore your computer to a previous state, to recover data, and to back up data. For more information about Recovery Commander, see Restoring Checkpoints.

§       BootFixer™

BootFixer fixes the BOOT.INI file and the Boot Configuration Data (BCD). For more information about BootFixer, see Fixing the Boot Record.

§       Manual Partitioning

Use Manual Partitioning to create disk partitions. Your computer treats a partition as though it were another drive. For more information about Manual Partitioning, see Partitioning a Disk.

The Avanquest Start menu is located in the lower left corner of the Rescue Disk window. From the Start menu, you can choose a tool, edit partition settings, get help, or exit Rescue Disk.

To open the Avanquest Start menu:

§       Click the Avanquest logo.
