Viewing Programs and Processes

The Dashboard displays a list of the processes that were started when you last started the PC, and the processes that are currently running. This list provides an easy way to see if there are unnecessary processes that you can stop or disable. For example, a process that is intended for networked computers can be disabled if you do you use your computer on a network.

To view detailed information about a process, use the PC Analyzer tool on the Optimize tab. (See Analyzing PC Processes. You can also stop (end) a running process using PC Analyzer, but the process will restart when the computer or program is started. To permanently disable a process so it never starts, see Enabling and Disabling Startup Items.
