Customizing Alert Thresholds

PC Analyzer has default settings for CPU, Memory, and Disk alert thresholds. If you determine that thresholds are too high or too low for certain activities, you have the option to edit the thresholds.

To customize alert thresholds:

1       Click the Settings button.

2       Click Optimize, and then click the PC Analyzer tab.

3       Confirm that Data Collection is set to ON and that the types of alerts you want to receive are set to ON.

4       Click Advanced Settings.

5       If needed, click the plus sign (+) to expand CPU Alert Triggers.

§       For Per Process Consumption, set the percent limit, and then set the number of seconds that the process must remain at that limit before you are alerted.

6       If needed, click the plus sign (+) to expand Memory Alert Triggers.

§       For Overall Memory Usage, set the percent limit based on the total available memory.

§       For Overall Paging, set the percent limit based on acceptable page file activity.

§       For Per Process Paging, set the number of pages per second based on acceptable page file activity.

§       For Allowed Memory Usage, set the percent limit for a specific process based on its allowed amount of memory usage.

7       Edit additional settings, as needed.

8       When finished, click OK.
