Editing Disk Defrag Settings

You can access the settings directly from Disk Defrag or by clicking the Settings button in the main window.

To edit Disk Defrag settings:

1       Click the Settings button.

2       Click Optimize, and then click the Disk Defrag tab.

3       Choose a defragmentation setting:

§       Quick Defrag to defragment a disk without analyzing it.

§       Normal Defrag to analyze and defragment a disk

§       Total Defrag to analyze, defragment, and consolidate free space on a disk.

To improve your computer’s response time when accessing system files, select the Move system files to the fastest part of the disk check box.

4       To set up system files to be defragmented the next time your computer restarts, click Boot Defrag and select Defragment paging files and registry log files upon restart.

NOTE:   These files cannot be defragmented when the computer is running.

5       Enable either or both of the Disk Defrag settings.

6       Click OK.
