Fixing Registry Errors

The Microsoft Windows registry is complex and your computer accesses it constantly to update, add, and change data. These constant changes can create problems.

Registry Fixer includes two types of scans to help find and fix registry problems — Normal and Advanced. Both types of scans examine all areas of the registry, but a Normal scan displays one list (the Safe List), while an Advanced scan displays the Safe List along with the Expert List.

§       Safe List
The Safe List contains a list of errors that are safe to fix. These errors have no risk of impacting areas of your computer that can cause further problems. Any level user can run a Normal scan and fix all of the errors without any concern that there may be unexpected results.

§       Expert List
The Expert List contains errors that are more complex, so the repairs are more complex. Each error on the Expert List should be carefully checked by someone with expert knowledge of the Windows registry to confirm that the changes will not create further problems.

If, after fixing errors, the results are undesirable, you have the option of undoing the changes made during the repairs using the Undo It tool. For more information, see Undoing Fix-It Utilities Changes.
