Live Update checks daily for software updates available for SystemSuite software.
The settings include an option to automatically download the update before you are alerted that it is available. With this option, the update is downloaded and you can quickly install it from your computer. Otherwise, you are alerted that there is an update and you can download it and install at that time.
If you installed SystemSuite anti-virus features, you can set up automatic updates for anti-malware threat definitions.
Anti-malware definitions contain the instructions for finding and fixing viruses and other malware. Because viruses and other malware are continually being distributed, the anti-malware needs to be up to date to fully protect your computer. SystemSuite can automatically check for updates and install them at a frequency you define — hourly, every 4 hours, etc.
WARNING: SystemSuite anti-malware updates provide new threat definitions for SystemSuite Anti-Malware protection. The updates do not update 3rd party anti-virus or anti-malware programs.
To edit Live Update settings:
1 Click the Settings button on the upper-right area of the screen.
2 In General Settings, click Live Update.
3 For Anti-Malware Definitions (also called threat definitions) select Update Automatically if you want SystemSuite to check for new SystemSuite Anti-Malware.
4 Select an interval from the list.
NOTE: For most PCs, 4 or 8 hour intervals is sufficient to keep the threat definitions up to date.
5 For Application Updates, select Download before notifying if you want SystemSuite to download updates before notifying you. If this option is cleared, SystemSuite will notify you when there is an update available and you can download the update at that time.
6 Click OK.
