You can change how partitions are created. You can also specify some processes that run as a result of partitioning.
To edit Partitioning tool settings:
1 From the Avanquest Start menu, choose Settings > General.
2 To automatically format new partitions, select the Auto Format on create check box.
3 To check a partition for errors when you create it, select the Enable surface-tests check box.
4 To apply these settings to the current session only, select the Disable auto-save check box. To save these settings as the default settings, clear the Disable auto-save check box.
5 To run BootFixer immediately after you create a partition, select the Auto BootFixer check box.
6 To receive questions about the time zone settings, select the Confirm NTFS time-zone settings check box.
When converting a FAT partition to an NTFS partition, if the regional settings do not match the operating system, the file dates, times, and names might change. For more information see Editing Computer Regional Settings.
7 Ignore the Allow multi-undo formatting check box. It is not applicable.
8 To update the security identifier after you copy a partition, select the Always change SID after copy check box. This ensures that the copy does not have the same SID as the original.
9 To recover a partitioning operation in the event of a power failure or computer reset, select the Enable Restart checkpoint check box.
10 To skip sectors of the disk that do not contain data, select the Fast copy - skip unused sectors check box.
11 To allow the Partitioning tool to access external hard drives, select the Enable USB support check box. If you experience problems with USB devices, clear the Enable USB support check box.
NOTE: Do not attach any USB drives until your computer restarts. The BIOS may detect the USB drive.

13 From the Mouse Speed list, select how fast your mouse should move on the screen.
14 To restore the default settings, click Reset to defaults.
