Opening the Partitioning Tool

The Partitioning tool is a part of Rescue Disk. You start your computer from the Rescue Disk and open the Partitioning tool.

To open the Partitioning tool:

1       Start your computer using the Rescue Disk. For more information, see Booting From a Rescue Disc.

2       In the Rescue Disk wizard, click Manual Partitioning, or, from the Avanquest Start menu, choose Partitioning.

3       To select a partition, in the disk map, click it.

4       To change drives, from the Select Disk list, select the drive. You can also click the 0, 1, or 2 buttons.

The Partitioning window displays the physical drive. The legend in the lower right corner indicates the file system installed on the partition.

The Select Disk toolbar displays the selected drive information.

The General tab displays the selected drive, partition information, and used disk space.

The Details tab displays cluster and sector information for the selected drive.

The main pane displays the entire drive divided into partitions. The primary partitions appear on the left. Logical partitions (partitions within a partition), if any, appear on the right.
